Karley and I put Christmas...I could not agree more. Karley and I put Christmas lights up on our house on Marigny St. the other night. Part of me felt a reverence that I don't usually associate with a string of chinese plastic lights. Another part of me felt as though it were an act of defiance! I have a new connection with my friends and neighbors and acts that were once done out of habit - like picking up litter on the street - have taken on new significance. I am trying to hold on to these aspects of the Katrina experience.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
